It’s clear to see why Alice and Jason chose to have their Lingholm Estate wedding. As the clear blue sky reflected on the idyllic lake, as the ancient mountains sheltered this oasis from the outside world, we knew we would have the opportunity to capture some true beauty on this day.
The estate is known for its connection with the wonderful Beatrix Potter, and it is a stunning location, managed by a wonderful family. Peaceful and private with its phenomenal mountain views, Alice and Jason just fell in love with it and it soon became their happy place. This wonderful couple have enjoyed many happy memories of hiking and holidaying around the North Lakes, so it was the obvious choice for their wedding.

Jason and Alice shared with us that they chose us to be their Lingholm Estate Lake District wedding photographer because they liked our luminous style and how we aim to capture intimate moments in a truly natural way. They loved the connection we bring between both indoor and outdoor locations – and we really wanted to offer them all that they wished for.
This couple sparkled all day with happiness. Jason is American and Alice English, and they had met at a Santa-Claus fancy dress party in Sydney, where they both live, so it was no surprise that this pair had an amazing sense of humour and clear love for life. We spent the morning sharing their preparations with them. The wedding was black-tie, and the couple wanted everyone to look and feel fabulous. Jason wore a crisp white shirt and tailored jacket, giving a fresh and uplifting vibe to his style, and Alice – well, she just glowed with natural beauty and sheer happiness. From her beautifully feminine lingerie images, to her dramatic gown, she was a joy to photograph.
Lingholm House itself has a timeless charm. Covered in ivy and boasting tall gothic windows and a grand staircase, it was the perfect place to photograph Alice’s phenomenal gown in all its glory. This couple managed to pull together true style and high-end fashion together with a quirky British sense of humour and individual touches. This was especially the case with the charming vintage buses that ferried the guests to the traditional parish church. And who should meet them after they had walked happily through a shower of white confetti, but their gorgeous husky dog, Roxy, complete with dapper bow tie!
Lake District Wedding
This couple adore spending time together going for walks with Roxy, so it made perfect sense for their canine chum to be part of their day. After the ceremony, old friends and new greeted each other on the lush green lawn, while Alice and Jason stole some time away for a quiet walk along the ancient wall of the property and down to the jetty overlooking the serene lake; and the photos seem to capture their feelings of delight in each other.
Later, within the marquee, guests enjoyed family style eating in a boho-chic setting that was warm and welcoming with lush greenery, and glittering candles. The speeches brought a combination of hilarity mixed and emotion to the evening. As nighttime descended, the guests truly let loose on the dancefloor and true fun and enjoyment prevailed. The couple had hoped for a day full of laughter and joy in a stunning setting and to be able to celebrate and cherish each other. We felt privileged and honoured to be their Lingholm Estate wedding photographer on their wonderful day. A wedding where true style, individuality and happiness was truly abundant.
