Wedding Day Questionnaire
Questionnaire for Photography and Videography
Hello!
We need to know some information to ensure we can get absolutely the best out of our clients’ photography and/or videography. Below, you can answer our questions on their behalf, which helps us stay organised and 100% ready for their wedding.
We recommend filling in this form using the Google Chrome browser to ensure a smooth experience.
The questionnaire is quite lengthy, but you can save it and continue later by scrolling down to the bottom and hitting the button.
The form is NOT working on mobiles and tablets; please use your laptop or computer to fill it in. Thank you so much in advance.
Please take your time, but please fill out the questionnaire no later than three weeks before your wedding so there is time to discuss the details.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
Thank you so much in advance!

Family Portraits
We recommend doing the family portraits in the second half of your drinks reception, usually about 45 minutes before you are going to sit down for your meal, as by then your guests have had a chance to catch up with you and mingle. Before that Pauline will have time to capture candid shots of your guests. We don't recommend to do the family portraits right after the ceremony however if your schedule doesn't allow to do them at the reception that's fine.

After the ceremony
Please leave blank if you work with a wedding planner.
Please go through our FAQs and Timings brochure first to see how Pauline works during the family portraits.
You can download our brochure by clicking here
We recommend a maximum of 6-8 formal family groups. One group can take up to 5 minutes, therefore it’s good to have in mind that if Pauline has to photograph more than 8 groups, she will not have any time to photograph your table set up and details of decoration.
Here is a suggestion of the groups:
-Bride and groom together
-Bride and groom with bride’s family
-Bride and groom with groom’s family
-Bride and groom with wedding party
-Bride and bridesmaids
-Groom and ushers
Pauline also needs someone who will help her to gather people for each group in advance to make things run smoother so he or she can call people by names.
Who will be helping Pauline organising groups?

Couple Portraits
The couple portraits are foundation of our wedding films and photos from your couple sessions are equally important. It's essential to have enough time for this part of the wedding so we can give you photos and film you will love! Please let us know how much time you would like to shoot with us.
*
Only 30 mins (NOT recommended)
40 mins (recommended minimum)
40+ mins (Our best photos and films were made with sessions over 40 mins)
Couple portraits comment
*
Photography and cinematography are all about light. We should ideally go shooting in the late afternoon when the sun is low but still strong. This cannot often be planned ahead as weather and light conditions change. This might often collide with other parts of the wedding day, so please keep this in mind when planning your schedule. Can you please comment on this and how much this is important for you?

You can check the exact sunset time on your date here

The Wedding Film
Please carefully read all the information below. Wedding films require planning in pre-production and we will need you to work with us on it to ensure we can tell your story in the most original and unique way.
SPEECHES
For the speeches, it's ESSENTIAL to have a microphone stand to ensure we can get the best out of the speeches. Using a microphone stand guarantees us that the speakers will be standing all at the same spot, and more importantly, they won't be moving back and forth with the microphone as most people do when they are publicly speaking. From our experience, when the microphone stand is not arranged, the footage from the speeches will be difficult and annoying to watch as Jacob will have to move and pan the camera to follow the speakers. Jacob shoots with a shallow depth of field so that the speakers will be out of focus frequently, and in general, it just doesn't look nice. Please kindly ask your venue or wedding coordinator to arrange the microphone stand and get it ready for us during the reception. Please follow up on them, they often promise the mic stand and then don't have it on the wedding day. This plays a crucial role in your wedding films.
*
Sure! We will let our wedding coordinator know about the microphone stand
AUDIO
In addition, it is imperative for us to mic both the groom and officiant (before the ceremony). We have small recorders that can fit in a pocket and is not wireless, so they will not interfere with the venue’s audio system. It allows us to capture clean and clear audio of the vows ceremony.
*
Sure!
Jacob needs to leave the bride's getting ready for the ceremony no later than 20 minutes before the bride does to set up the sound recorders. Therefore please ensure that the bride gets ready in her wedding dress no later than 35 minutes before she leaves. We understand that this might not be possible due to the tight schedule, but if you can, please make sure there is enough time for Jacob to capture the dress buttoning and the final touches.
*
OK
Please list all occasions which will require sound recording. i.e. Vows, Readings, Speeches, Singing Performance. Please list in chronological order as follows: "Reading during the ceremony – Mother of the Bride – Jessica" If you hired us for more than one day, please include these days as well. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that any speech or performance not listed here will be recorded as audio recording must be set up in advance. When you mention speeches, please list them in the exact order and the exact part of the wedding breakfast they are happening., i.e. father of the bride – after the starter, best men – after the main course. This is very important to us.
*
Are your speeches taking place all at once or in between the meal courses?

Priests are sometimes very strict and might forbid us to record their voice or even film the whole ceremony at the church. Please talk to them before the wedding and ask if they are happy for Jacob to give them a microphone, record their words, and film the service. It is not unusual that they ask for a fee to get a license to use the footage in your films. Please contact your priest and make sure you get the license before the wedding, so there is no misunderstanding on the wedding day. Unfortunately, if we're not allowed to film or record sound during the service, this part of the wedding will be missing in your films. Please ensure all is sorted before the wedding day.
*
Okay, we will contact our priest and purchase a license if necessary

COUPLE PORTRAITS
GETTING READY
Cinematography is much more demanding than photography in terms of lighting. When natural light mixes with indoor lights, it is impossible to capture the correct colours, especially the skin tone. During the getting ready, there’s usually enough light to fill the room with natural light and make the room bright; therefore, we switch the lights off whenever it is possible. Please ensure that the make-up artist will sat you close and facing the largest window in the room. If this is not arranged and the make-up artist will require indoor lights on, we cannot provide you with flattering images in our usual style.
*
Sure! We will let the Make Up Artist know
Is there anything we should know which could be crucial to your story and not obvious to us
*
Are there any touchy family dynamics we should be aware of when editing your film, such as divorces or major disagreements between family members?
*
Please let us know how you would prefer your names to be displayed on your final wedding film(s), with the correct spelling. i.e., Gabi & Matt vs Gabriella & Matthew
*
Last but not Least!
Please find your contract in your email archive and carefully check what is included in your package. Except for the extra hours, other wedding films and the wedding album, we will not be able to add anything after the wedding. If there is something, you would like to add, please get in touch right after you finish the questionnaire.
Will do!
We would like to ask you to please provide us with a hot meal. It will be a very long day for us, and the meal you provide us will most likely be the only food we have for the whole day. If you can, please provide us with all three courses. Caterers always serve us last, and when they get the main, usually the speeches have already started, and we end up not having time to eat at all. There is nothing worse than shooting with an empty stomach, so having all three courses guarantees us that we will at least have the starter. As for dietary requirements, we don’t have any. Many thanks for considering our request.
*
All bridesmaids must be in their robes or dressed up and ready before we arrive, as it doesn't look good when you have pictures of getting ready in a beautiful room, and everyone wears jeans and t-shirts. The room where the preparation takes place must be tidy without suitcases and bags.
*
Pauline would love to do a few bridal portraits just before you leave for the ceremony. She needs only 10 minutes, and these photos are gorgeous. Would you like to have a few of these? If so, please make sure that you will get ready on time and allow enough time for her to do a couple of shots as most of the time, the bridal party don't get ready on time and then try to rush everything last minute, allowing no time for these portraits.
*
Please don't forget to bring all your stationary, invitations, save the date cards… These things look fantastic when they're together in one picture or the album
*
Sure thing
Don’t have any
During the couple portraits we have to stay together and cannot separate.
*
Sure thing
As you hired us for a certain amount of hours, what should we do if the schedule runs late and there are still some things to be photographed or filmed? (i.e. cutting of the cake, first dance, party) The last thing we want to do on your wedding day is to bother you with extra charges, so please tell us in advance what you would prefer:
*
We will pay for extra coverage. Please continue shooting until the first dance and bit of the party
Please come and ask if we prefer you to continue shooting or leave.
