Couple Portraits
The couple portraits are the core of our all wedding films. They are what makes our wedding films unique, and it’s vital to us that we have enough time to capture all we need to give you a film you will love. Please let us know how much time you would like to spend filming your portraits with us.
*
Only 25 mins – not recommended
35 mins – recommended
45 mins – our best films were made during 45 minutes sessions
To ensure we can give you a wedding film that looks like the films you can see on our website or social media, Jacob has to shoot the portraits independently, without your photographer. Your Photo and video couple session cannot be done simultaneously as Jacob works in a very specific that doesn't work if mixed with still photography.
*
Sure! We will let our wedding planner and photographer know.

Videography is all about light. We need to shoot at the right time of the day as beautiful light is something that cannot be created or fixed in post-production. This cannot often be planned ahead as weather and light conditions change. This might often collide with other parts of the wedding day, so please keep this in mind when planning your schedule. Can you please comment on this and how much this is important for you?

The Wedding Film
Wedding films require planning in pre-production, and we will need you to work with us on it to ensure we can tell your story in the most authentic and unique way. Please carefully read through the information below.
SPEECHES
For the speeches, it's essential to have a microphone stand to ensure we can get the best out of the speeches. Using a microphone stand guarantees us that the speakers will be standing all at the same spot, and more importantly, they won't be moving back and forth with the microphone as most people do when they are publicly speaking. From our experience, when the microphone stand is not arranged, the footage from the speeches will be difficult to watch as Jacob will have to move and pan the camera to follow the speakers. Jacob shoots with a shallow depth of field so that the speakers will be out of focus frequently, and in general, it just doesn't look nice. Please kindly ask your venue or wedding coordinator to arrange the microphone stand and get it ready for us during the reception. Please follow up on them, a week or two before the wedding day to ensure this has been arranged.
*
Sure! We will let our wedding coordinator know about the microphone stand
AUDIO
Jacob needs to arrive at the ceremony venue no later than 15 minutes before the ceremony starts to set up sound recorders. Please ensure that you are ready and dressed before Jacob leaves.
*
OK
In addition, it is imperative for us to mic both the groom and officiant (before the ceremony). We have small recorders that can fit in a pocket and is not wireless, so they will not interfere with the venue’s audio system. It allows us to capture clean and clear audio of the vows ceremony.
*
Sure!
Priests are sometimes very strict and might forbid us to record their voice or even film the whole ceremony at the church. Please talk to them before the wedding and ask if they are happy for Jacob to give them a microphone, record their words, and film the service. It is not unusual that they ask for a fee to get a license to use the footage in your films. Please contact your priest and make sure you get the license before the wedding, so there is no misunderstanding on the wedding day. Unfortunately, if we're not allowed to film or record sound during the service, this part of the wedding will be missing in your films. Please ensure all is sorted before the wedding day.
*
Okay, we will contact our priest and purchase a license if necessary

Are your speeches taking place all at once or in between the meal courses?
All at once
In between the courses
Please list all occasions which will require sound recording. i.e. Vows, Readings, Speeches, Singing Performance. Please list in chronological order as follows: "Reading during the ceremony – Grand mother of the groom – Jessica" If you hired us for more than one day, please include these days as well. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that any speech or performance not listed here will be recorded as audio recording must be set up in advance. When you mention speeches, please list them in the exact order and the exact part of the wedding breakfast they are happening., i.e. best man – after the starter, maid of honour – after the main course. This is very important to us.
*
Will you be reading personal vows during the ceremony, or letters during the getting ready?
COUPLE PORTRAITS
GETTING READY
Videography and photography, in general, are very sensitive for good quality light. When natural light mixes with indoor lights, it is impossible to capture the correct colours, especially the skin tone. When getting ready, there’s usually enough light to fill the room with natural light and make the room bright; therefore, we switch the lights off whenever possible. Please ensure that the make-up artist will sit you close and face the largest window in the room. If this is not arranged and the make-up artist will require indoor lights on, we cannot provide you with positive images in our usual style.
*
Sure! We will let the Make Up Artist know
Is there anything we should know which could be crucial to your story and not obvious to us
*
Are there any touchy family dynamics we should be aware of when editing your film, such as divorces or major disagreements between family members?
*
Please let us know how you would prefer your names to be displayed on your final wedding film(s), with the correct spelling. i.e., Gabi & Matt vs Gabriella & Matthew
*
Last but not Least!
Please find your contract in your email archive and carefully check what is included in your package. Except for the extra hours and the wedding album, we will not be able to add anything after the wedding. If there is something, you would like to add, please get in touch right after you finish the questionnaire.
Will do!
We would like to ask you to please provide us with a hot meal. It will be a very long day for us, and the meal you provide us will most likely be the only food we have for the whole day. If you can, please provide us with all three courses. Caterers always serve us last, and when they get the main, usually the speeches have already started, and we end up not having time to eat at all. There is nothing worse than shooting with an empty stomach, so having all three courses guarantees us that we will at least have the starter. As for dietary requirements, we don’t have any. Many thanks for considering our request.
*
We strongly advise to AVOID any kind of sunless or spray tanning before the wedding day. It looks good to the naked eye, but It looks really, really bad on photos, and even worse on film, your skin will look orange and unnatural. This cannot be fixed in post-production.
*
Okay
Please don't forget to bring all your stationary, invitations, save the date cards… These things look fantastic when they're together in one picture or the album
*
Sure thing
Don’t have any
As you hired us for a certain amount of hours, what should we do if the schedule runs late and there are still some things to be photographed or filmed? (i.e. cutting of the cake, first dance, party) The last thing we want to do on your wedding day is to bother you with extra charges, so please tell us in advance what you would prefer:
*
We will pay for extra coverage. Please continue shooting until the first dance and bit of the party
Please come and ask if we prefer you to continue shooting or leave.
