Barbados wedding photographer | Jesicca and Nigel
We are incredibly lucky that our job lets us venture to such amazing places to photograph the couples that we work with. A perfect example of this was Nigel and Jessica’s three-days celebration in Carribean.
We spent three days with them and were made to feel like part of the celebration the whole time. It was such an enjoyable wedding to shoot, not just because of the exotic location, but also because we really clicked with Nigel and Jessica. We had a lot in common with them, from a passion for travel to a love of good food, which made us feel on the same wavelength. We felt as though we were there as wedding guests, as much as to photograph them!
We worked with their incredible wedding planner, Emma Corrie, who found us the most amazing location for the pre-wedding shoot. Crane Beach was a stunning spot, and the light was perfect, in fact it provided some of the best light conditions that we’ve experienced! It’s really important to us when we photograph a couple to capture the real essence of who they are and how they feel about each other. It was great to see Nigel and Jessica in their casual clothes and so natural during the pre-wedding shoot. It resulted in some beautifully relaxed photos.
The next day we joined them on a catamaran cruise, where we got some brilliant photos of their guests soaking up the sun on deck, fishing and playing in the aquamarine water. We went snorkelling with turtles, which was a fantastic experience, and finished up on a remote beach with a delicious BBQ. It was a great chance for everyone to unwind before the wedding and to see some untouched spots.
The wedding itself was perfect. The day started at Jessica’s house, where every detail was flawless, but still managed to be imbued with island simplicity. The ceremony itself took place at the beautiful Hunte’s Gardens, where Nigel and Jessica exchanged their vows surrounded by tropical plants.
Jessica’s parents hosted the reception, which was one of the most beautiful that we’ve ever seen. Her father joined her on the dancefloor for an emotional dance to Eagles’ Hotel California, which was a really special moment. The night ended in true Bajan style with a BBQ, cocktails and dancing under the stars. We were amazed at the detail and effort that had been put into the whole day, and the reception was a stunning testament to the amount of care that had been taken by all involved in order to make this a truly special day.
Our trip didn’t end after the wedding, as we stayed on for a few more days and explored the island from top to bottom! We travelled to every corner, stopping at rum shacks for the national tipple – run punch! – and sampling flying fish cutters.
The whole experience was unforgettable. We were so glad to be a part of this magical destination wedding in Barbados!
